Nicamade

BUY our product. The easiest way to help the people of Nicaragua is to purchase products off our website. Remember that we pay a fair wage (what the Nicaraguan government says is need to support a family). All income goes to Nicaraguans and if there are any profits, 30% goes to the Nicaraguan staff of NicaMade, 60% goes to the communities producing the products and 10% to Food for the Hungry Nicaragua.

SELL our product. We are looking for businesses and groups to sell our products. If you’re interested in buying our products wholesale call Shannon Ahern at 509-385-2369 or email him at shannon@nicamade.com.

GIVE US PROFESSIONAL ADVICE. If you are an artisan who would like to share your skills or maybe a programmer who would like to volunteer, let us know and we willl try to give you an opportunity to serve.

SERVE IN NICARAGUA. If you think you might want to fly to Nicaragua and work in a poor community, we might be able to connect you with a community who would love to learn. We’ve had one Canadian jewelry maker visit a community in Nicaragua and teach them how to make jewelry. They got so excited about making jewelry that they used some of their own group savings to buy material and start practicing jewelry making before NicaMade could help organize them into a small micro-enterprise! We’re expecting to have a page on this community soon.

DONATE MONEY. While NicaMade is a business there are many very worthwhile nonprofits that have worked hard to provide a community environment where micro-enterprise can thrive. These nonprofit organizations provide education, health care, counseling, spiritual support, youth activities, church building and general spiritual and physical development to the poor of Nicaragua. One great organization doing just this is Food for the Hungry Nicaragua which has been active for years with both relief and development. The goal of FH Nicaragua is to see "The community and its people advancing toward their God-given potential, being equipped to go beyond meeting their basic needs, having a growing group of Christians loving God and one another, manifesting he fruit of the Spirit and reaching out to serve others." Be sure to write "For FH Nicaragua" on your check. You may also call 1-800-246-6437 and use your bankcard to donate money to FH Nicaragua. Again be sure to tell them you want to support the programs in Nicaragua.

SCHOLARSHIPS. NicaMade did not plan to have a scholarship program but a generous business person donated money for two college scholarships that have been well received. So if you would like to donate money (at this time it is not tax deductable but we hope to have that possible in the future) for scholarships, you can email us at Shannon@nicamade.com.

PRAY for us. We value your prayers. We can only do so much but when we pray and God begins to work, miracles happen.
