Nicamade

NICAMADE is a Nicaraguan business whose goal is to help Nicaraguan families earn a "livable income" by working with others in their community to produce and sell quality products throughout the world using Christian business practices. Many people are involved in helping NicaMade a success. Below are some of those who make it all work:

Peter Traña is the president of NicaMade and is the one on the ground in Nicaragua. He is a graduate of Nicaraguan Christian Academy and is studying business administration at the University of Science and Commerce (UCC) in Managua. Peter loves the people of Nicaragua and wants to combine his gifts in business with serving others. He loves being able to share Christ with those he works with.

Felix Garcia is the NicaMade bookkeeper and Peter's right hand man. Felix has an accounting degree from the Politech University of Managua (UPOLI) and has served as a youth leader for years at the First Baptist Church of Managua. Felix has a heart for ministry and loves being a part of NicaMade and what we are doing in Nicaragua.

OTHERS HELPING NICAMADE IN NICARAGUA

Pamela Neumman is the Communications Specialist for Food for the Hungry/Nicaragua. She has written many articles for us and shared many of her wonderful photos. Thank you, Pamela, for helping us serve the poor in Nicaragua in a more professinal manner.

Mike Coberley has an MBA and has worked 40 years for large corporations in the US and now has retired to work with Food for the Hungry, Nicaragua. Mike has a heart for kids and after adopting 8 and sponsoring 7 from all over the world he has decided to help the children of Nicaragua by sharing with them the love of Christ and helping their parents provide a better living for the whole family. One way Mike is doing that is by volunteering to work with NicaMade in Nicaragua. Thank you Mike.

Fevelly Flores and her mother, Maria Ilena, have helped NicaMade in many ways-from sharing their sewing skills and giving advice on design to where to get the best deals at the Oriental Market. We also thank them for letting us use their home as a coffee warehouse.

We also thank Norma Diaz, Felix Garcia's mom for giving us free bookkeeping advice which we despartely needed.

The El Ayudante www.nicamissions.com staff have been extremely supportive of NicaMade. El Ayudante brings hundreds of North Americans to Nicaragua so they can share and learn with their Nicaraguan brothers and sisters. El Ayudante has generously allowed us to give presentations to their teams and we appreciate it greatly. Thank you El Ayudante.

Living Waters International www.water.cc and the Nehemiah Center www.nehemiahcenter.net are also two organizations that have been very supportive and we appreciate their support.

US SUPPORT
Sean Ahern is NicaMade's volunteer programmer.The young man with him is Theodore, his son. Theodore isn't much help yet but we expect big things from him in the future. Thanks Sean for doing so much for us.


Shannon Ahern is NicaMade's volunteer representative in the US. Shannon was a Food for the Hungry staff person in Nicaragua from October 2004 through July 2007. He and Peter Traña began NicaMade as a sustainable way of helping the poor of Nicaragua to improve their lives physically, socially and spiritually. If you have questions or comments, feel free to email or call Shannon. The picture shows Shannon experiencing just how hard farming is in Nicaragua. He was glad he only had to do one row! Don Chico, the farmer, was glad too after seeing how crooked his rows were...
